PADI Altitude Diver
Diving at 1000ft or 300M above sea level? You're diving at altitude. As a PADI Altitude Diver, you'll be able to plan altitude dives and you'll learn about altidude dive considerations. If you live at altitude, diving at altitude can extend your dive season and open up new diving opportunities.

DiveDescription
Altitude Dive 1 Calculate a no-decompression profile for the theoretical depth and altitude at which the dive will take place, using the Recreational Dive Planner.
Execute a descent using a reference as a tactile or visual guide (line or sloping bottom).
Compare a depth gauge to the instructor's and or other student diver's depth gauges.
Use a depth gauge and timing device (or dive computer) to measure an ascent rate that is not faster than 9m/30ft per minute.
Perform an ascent using a reference as a tactile or visual guide (line or sloping bottom).
Perform at least a three-minute safety stop at a theortical depth of 5m/15ft before surfacing.
Counts as an Adventure Dive towards Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver.
Altitude Dive 2 Calculate and plan a no-decompression profile for the theoretical depth and altitude at which the dive will take place, using the Recreational Dive Planner.
Apply the skills and knowledge developed in the academic session and first open water training dive.
