If you're interested in aquatic life then the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is for you. This course is an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques.

Naturalist Dive 1 Passively observe aquatic life
Apply diving techniques to preserve bottom dwelling organisms and minimize disturbance of aquatic life
Locate and identify, by common or scientific name, at least two local aquatic plants (one for freshwater)
Locate, observe and identify by common or scientific name, at least four local aquatic invertibrate animals (one for freshwater).
Locate, observe and identify by common or scientific name, at least five local aquatic vertebrate animals (two for freshwater).
Counts as an Adventure Dive towards Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water.
Naturalist Dive 2 Passively observe aquatic life
Apply diving techniques used to preserve bottom-dwelling organisms and minimize disturbance of aquatic life.
Identify and observe as many examples of symbiotic and predator/prey relationships as possible.
Locate as many indications of impact by man on the local aquatic environment as possible, and evaluate the possible cause.

Think you can't dive in Utah? Think again! Utah has some very unique dive sites. Blue Lake (in Utah, you just drive through Nevada to get to it) and the Crater (Homestead Resort, Midway, Utah) are both geothermal dive sites that provide unique dives you can't find outside of Utah.
